On 2nd and 3rd of July 2022, an excursion was organised to learn more about Nikola Tesla’s education in Croatia and about his role in the history of Electrical Engineering.
The excursion was proposed by Professor Dina Šimunić (FER, secretary of CIS) and journey was planned by Professor Darko Žubrinić (FER, also a member of CIS) along with Joginder Singh Nijjar, president of CIS.
Croatian-Indian Society in Zagreb (CIS), jointly with CIGRE-Croatia organised the tour for total of 14 people , both Croatian & Indian. It furthered the tie and connect between two nationals. We are thankful to CIGRE-Croatia especially to Dr. Božidar Filipović-Grčić, HEP, for sponsoring our journey.

Day 1 :
- Museum of the Castle Ozalj guided by o Mr. Stjepan Bezjak
- Two Hydroelectric Plants on Kupa River, amongst oldest in Croatia, also a cultural & Technical monument. Plant 1 was built in 1908 and operational even now one of the olded electric plan in Croatia also named cultural and technical monument of Croatia. Its project was completed by Herman Bollé, distinguished Croatian architect of German-French origin, born in the city of Koeln.
- Lunch Break by beautiful River Kupa
- Visit to Karlovac Grammar School – School Attended By Nikola Tesla during 14 to 17 years ( Higher Real School of Rakovac ) guided by Antun Milinković
Day 2:
- Gospic -Tesla’s monument created by Frano Kršinić, distinguished Croatian sculptor.
- Tesla’s Native village Smiljan – Museum of Nikola Tesla ,Nikola Tesla was born here.
- Galop company took us to an unplanned visit to developing site of Rimach Automobili electric car near Sveta Nedelja , Zagreb
